General topics

Can we purchase food or drink on the boat?

We don’t sell food or drinks onboard, so we recommend bringing your own. Complimentary hot drinks (tea, coffee, or soup) are always provided to keep you warm and refreshed between dives.

Can we buy gear onboard?

We carry a small stock of essentials in case you lose or break something during your trip — things like speargun rubbers, dive knives, or measuring tools.

Do you have a toilet onboard?

Yes, our vessel is fitted with an eco-friendly marine toilet. It’s enclosed for privacy and uses biodegradable sanitation products, ensuring comfort while minimising environmental impact.

Where do we meet you, and where can we park?

Meeting points vary depending on your dive destination. We’ll confirm details with you when you book, and we’re happy to recommend safe parking options nearby.

Is there somewhere to buy lunch near the meeting point?

This depends on the location. We’ll give you local recommendations when you book, so you can stock up before heading out.

Is accommodation available nearby?

Yes, it depends on where you’re diving. Some of our recommended options include:

  • Whangarei Heads: Thistle-Do, right by the boat ramp.
  • Great Barrier Island: Orama Oasis, offering comfortable, friendly stays.

Ask us when booking and we’ll point you toward the best local options.

Do you supply weights for weight belts?

Yes, we provide weights for international guests or anyone flying in to meet us.

Scuba Diving Charters

How many divers can join a trip?

We can take up to 6 certified divers, with 2 tanks each.

Is there a toilet or changing space onboard?

Yes, we have a toilet and a private changing area in the front cabin. 
We recommend you arrive wearing a swimsuit/togs under your clothes as the cabin is small and only one person can occupy it at a time.

Do I need to bring food and drinks?

Yes, please bring your own lunch and water. We’ll keep you warm with complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and soup.

Is scuba gear available for hire?

We don’t provide full scuba gear hire, so please bring your own equipment. You must also bring proof of certification (PADI or equivalent).

Can I dive solo?

No, buddy diving is required for safety.

What experience level do I need? 

At least Open Water certification; recent dive experience (within 6 months) is recommended.

How long are the dives?

You can dive as long as your tank allows.

Do you supply weights and belts?

We provide weights for international/flying guests.

 

Freediving & Snorkelling Trips

How many snorkellers can join a trip?

We take a maximum of 8 snorkellers to keep the experience personal and relaxed.

Is there an age limit? 

No, but children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Can beginners join?

Absolutely! We’ll give you tips, gear, and guidance.

Do I need to be able to swim?

Yes, basic swimming ability is required.

What will I see?

Marine life varies by season, but expect colourful reef fish, kelp forests, and often dolphins.

Is snorkel gear available for hire?

Yes, we can provide snorkel gear, we’ll confirm your size and contact details when you book.

Do I need to bring food and drinks?

Yes, please bring your own lunch and water. We’ll have free hot drinks and soup on board.

Is there a toilet or changing space onboard?

Yes, there’s a toilet and a private changing space in the front cabin.

Spearfishing Charters

How many spearfishers can join a trip?

We take a maximum of 6 spearos per trip.

Is spearfishing gear available for hire?

You’ll need to bring your own gear, but we can supply weights for those flying in.

Do I need experience?

We recommend previous spearfishing experience for safety and success.

What species can I target?

Depending on the season: snapper, kingfish, trevally, and more.

Are there limits on what I can catch?

Yes, we follow strict sustainability and local fishing rules.

What certifications does your skipper hold?

Maritime NZ-approved and highly experienced.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we carry full commercial insurance.

Yes, we have capacity for luggage, backpacks, and equipment.

Can you do one-way trips?
